Our Leathers

Full Grain

Consistent quality is our key commitment. Ryokō promises to use only 'full grain' leather which is considered the finest quality of the cow hide in the market. Our goods are made from the very top layer of the grain, where the fibers are the strongest. This makes the hide very durable while still maintaining its natural features.

Hand Crafted

All our leather goods are are beautifully hand-stitched and assembled by highly talented and experienced artisans based in Thailand.

There are currently two main types of premium leathers used by Ryokō, each designed to maximize the characteristics of that particular style. So, whether you want a leather that will maintain its new look with smooth and silky feel, or the one that will age beautifully over time – you can find it here!

Aniline Oil Pull Up Leather

Oil-pull up is a unique and fascinating type of leather. Colored using aniline dyes that makes the leather more supple and smooth, it is then instilled with waxes and oils. This makes it highly durable and rich in color. Additionally, the oil acts as a protective layer that prevents water from leaking into the leather.

Characteristics

The beauty of oil-pull is its inherent resilience. The smooth and supple feel, along with water resistance and ability to maintain its appeal for lifetime.

Care Instruction

It is effortless to maintain this kind of leather. When scuffed, scratched or stretched, you can use a damp cloth with a little elbow grease to remove these imperfections easily.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

The Tanning process is an artisan traditional process which happens slowly in wooden drums, in full respect of the environment. The finishing is done by hand in order to give the leather the artisan look that is the principal attribute of vegetable leather. The natural aging does not compromise its resistance and gives it a vintage look with warm color shades showing evidence of being a natural product.
